I think that the analysis of the current world is, in this case, as overwhelming as it is simplistic. As a work of fiction it is fine, but as a reflection of reality it is not. The world is much more complex than a few evil capitalists hidden in the shadows directing a multitude of idiots who only think about consuming.

The issue, as always, but never mentioned, is: the alternative? Communism? Fascism?

We have come this far by the will of the people, because these people are quite mediocre. And so much mediocrity will always be taken advantage of by those who are not mediocre, and do well. The bad thing would be the other way around, that mediocrity would want to take advantage of those who are not mediocre. And something like that is happening with the woke and with the supposed progressivism that was fashionable until yesterday.

Let's admit it, we do not live in the best of all possible worlds, but this is the best of all worlds since we have historical knowledge. Which means that we have advanced. Today, any poor person in a Western capitalist country lives better than a king in the Middle Ages. But, of course, it doesn't sell to say these things, in a world where the progressive intellectuals have taken to living off the story of criticizing global progress like a mangy tick. And they call themselves progressives. Make me laugh!
