Oskar arrived on a Friday afternoon, just as the sun was beginning to dip over the horizon, turning the sky into shades of orange and pink. As he opened the door, Luke greeted him with a warm hug and a genuine smile. Mara, who had been making drinks in the kitchen, came over to greet him, and she couldn’t help but notice that Oskar was even more attractive than she remembered.
He had a magnetic presence, something about the way he moved and the way his dark blue eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief. His hair, a little longer and messier than the last time she saw him, gave him a carefree air. When he leaned in to kiss her on the cheek, Mara felt a slight tremor in her stomach, a mix of nervousness and curiosity.
“It’s nice to see you again, Mara,” Oskar said with a smile as he looked her straight in the eyes. “Luke’s been telling me how much fun you’re having here, and I have to say, I couldn’t resist coming to check it out for myself.”
Mara smiled back, feeling a familiar warmth on her face. “It’s a pleasure to have you with us, Oskar. I hope you enjoy your stay.”
